Päivi Eronen
Is born in Pielisjärvi, in Finland 1961. She has studied the Art of Photography at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Master of Arts 1993. She lived in Austria between the years 1989 - 1994. She was lecturer in photography in the School of Fine Arts of Imatra in years 1994 - 97, She is lecturer in photography in the Polytechnic of Fine arts, South Carelia, from the year 1997. She has had 8 individual exhibitions since 1993, five of them in Finland and four abroad: in Czech Republic, in Italy, in Austria and in Germany. She has taken part in several group exhibitions in Finland and abroad since 1984. Abroad in Spain, in USA, in Wales, in Estonia, in Russia, in Sweden, in Czech Republic and in Germany. . The most important of them are rounding exhibition in Russia in Ural area, "Northern borders" view of contemporary Finnish art in the Atlanta area, USA, Kalltlicht, 13 Fotografen aus Finland, Finnish photography in Germany, contemporary Art from Eastern Finland in Girona, Spain, Contemporary Finnish Photography in the House of Photography in Praque, rounding exhibition Humour in the Finnish photography in Finland, the year exhibition of Finnish Fine Arts in year 2001. She has published portfolio "Night Portraits". Articles have been written of her works in Finnish photomagazine and in Black Art. She has got several grants from Finnish state committee of photography and other committees for her artistic projects and working. She is member of Union of Fine artists in South Karelia and Union of Photo artists in Finland.
